TFTD: Events in Kenya and Iraq both serve to demonstrate how a popular election process is prone to exploitation by religious, ethnic and tribal leaders. Policies and political ideologies are hardly mentioned. Politics in such climates is bitter and factional.
There is no reason to believe the caliphate elections (or indeed the elections for the council of representatives) will be any better.
Q: Slogans aside, how do you envisage this (real and significant) problem to be tackled?
