TFTD: Devastated by democracy There is no longer much doubt that Kenya is destined to join the club of nations devastated by democracy, torn apart along ethnic, tribal, sectarian or political lines.
Once proud nations such as Yugoslavia, Somalia, Iraq, Palestine and Morocco, are now struggling to simply remain intact, after the collapse of their brief affairs with democracy.
Rather than help bind the differing factions, the ballot box has served to re-ignite and formalise past differences, plunging the countries into civil unrest, violence and disintegration.
